class=\"by-hero-intro\">53 years old, he swapped Lisbon for the countryside near Santar\u00e9m. How <em>Yoga<\/em> entered his life ten years ago and the BeYoga training transformed him: he became a teacher and an organiser of journeys that change people.<\/span><br \/>\n    <span class=\"by-hero-meta\">Lu\u00eds Sanchez &nbsp;\u00b7&nbsp; 15 June 2025<\/span>\n  <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"by-body\">\n<p>I&#8217;m Lu\u00eds Sanchez, I&#8217;m fifty-three, and although I was born and lived in Lisbon for over fifty years, almost two years ago I moved to the countryside and now live in the Santar\u00e9m area \u2014 close enough and, at the same time, far enough from the big city.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"by-img-full\" src=\"https:\/\/beyoga.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/sanchez-post-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"Lu\u00eds Sanchez, yoga teacher trained by BeYoga School, practising outdoors\"><br \/>\n<span class=\"by-img-caption\">Lu\u00eds Sanchez, <em>Yoga<\/em> teacher and organiser of transformative journeys.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>The beginning: from gymnastics to <em>Yoga<\/em><\/h2>\n<p>As a teenager I practised acrobatic gymnastics and later swimming, but as I never had a very competitive spirit, I ended up giving these up as they took on a more serious character.<\/p>\n<p><strong>My interest in <em>Yoga<\/em> began ten years ago<\/strong>, perhaps because it&#8217;s an individual practice, very turned towards ourselves, and because I was curious about its physical component, but above all its mental and spiritual one.<\/p>\n<div class=\"by-quote\">\n<p>In some phases more regularly, in others less, but always with a certain wish to deepen my knowledge of the world of <em>Yoga<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2>The BeYoga training: an unexpected transformation<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"by-img-full\" src=\"https:\/\/beyoga.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/545A6232.jpg\" alt=\"Lu\u00eds Sanchez during the BeYoga School yoga teacher training in Lisbon\"><br \/>\n<span class=\"by-img-caption\">BeYoga Teacher Training, intensive weekends in Lisbon.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In the first class of the BeYoga Teacher Training, <strong>I remember saying that my goal was to learn and develop my personal knowledge, but that I had no intention of teaching<\/strong>. The truth is that this intention shifted over the months.<\/p>\n<h3>What changed during the training<\/h3>\n<p class=\"by-item\">The history and philosophy of <em>Yoga<\/em>: a real journey through time<\/p>\n<p class=\"by-item\">Applied anatomy: vital information for anyone who wants to teach<\/p>\n<p class=\"by-item\">A methodology centred on the student and the functional body<\/p>\n<p class=\"by-item\">The feeling of community and belonging to the group<\/p>\n<div class=\"by-quote\">\n<p>The methodology taught at BeYoga, in the person of Carla Gon\u00e7alves, was something I identified with immediately because, in my opinion, it has a real balance between the physical, mental and spiritual components.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>Right now, I teach in 3 different places, four times a week.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><em>Yoga<\/em> and travel: a natural combination<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"by-img-full\" src=\"https:\/\/beyoga.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/img-marrocos-07.jpg\" alt=\"A group on a trip to Morocco organised by Lu\u00eds Sanchez with yoga woven in\"><br \/>\n<span class=\"by-img-caption\">One of the journeys organised by Lu\u00eds Sanchez: Morocco.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>So I decided to weave <em>Yoga<\/em>, with all its potential, into the travel experiences I organise.<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"by-quote\">\n<p>The truth is that no one comes back the same. One person took up painting, a long-held wish \u2014 and another wrote a book about the inner journey she made during one of these experiences.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>I can safely say that <em>Yoga<\/em> and the BeYoga Teacher Training were, and continue to be, the main forces behind this inspiration and transformation in my life.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>The BeYoga Experience Bali 2025<\/h2>\n<p>In November 2025, Lu\u00eds led the BeYoga group on an immersive journey to Bali: 12 days between the cliffs of Uluwatu, the sacred jungle of Ubud and the car-free beaches of the Gili Islands. Yoga practices with world-renowned teachers, the purification ceremony at the sacred Tirta Empul temple, the sunrise at 5:40am in Gili Air.
