Prana Yoga
Connect Body and Mind
Carla's note
Thirty-six minutes at low intensity, with the first half dedicated to the breath. The opening brings together seated alignment, Nadi Shodhana, mudras and guided breathing, followed by a visualisation. Movement only comes in afterwards, with Balasana, cat-cow and a slow Sun Salutation with plank, Uttanasana and Utkatasana. It closes with a balance and Savasana, and suits the morning.Carla Gonçalves
The practice, step by step
- 1Seated alignment, Nadi Shodhana, mudras and guided breathing
- 2Visualisation, child's pose, cat-cow and a Sun Salutation with plank, Uttanasana and chair pose
- 3Balance and Savasana
If it is your first time
A cushion to sit on during the breathing section. In the planks, knees on the floor. If the attention wanders during the visualisation, simply return to the breath, without judgement.
If you already practise
The first half works as a proper pranayama practice: follow the counts and keep the attention on the spine. In the salutation, two more rounds.
What you need
- mat
- bolster (optional)
About Prana Yoga
Prana Yoga is BeYoga's own approach: a Hatha practice with conscious breathing from beginning to end, where each pose is built with alignment and the transition matters as much as the arrival. It works strength, mobility and attention at the same time.
