Meditation
Morning Meditation for Serenity and Tranquillity
Carla's note
A twenty-six-minute seated morning meditation with the eyes closed. Once the posture is established and the spine aligned, the practice alternates guided visualisation with long periods of silence. The attention is expected to wander during these periods, and the return to the breath is repeated as often as needed. With the back unsupported, the posture calls for sustained engagement of the spinal extensors until the close, when the eyes open.Carla Gonçalves
The practice, step by step
- 1Find the posture and align the spine
- 2Guided visualisation and silence
- 3Carry the feeling into the day and open the eyes
If it is your first time
Sit on a cushion or a chair. The silence is long and it is normal for the mind to wander; come back to the breath as often as you need.
If you already practise
With the back unsupported, it is worth noticing how it differs from one day to the next.
What you need
- cushion or chair
About Meditation
The guided meditations are seated moments, eyes closed, with attention on the breath, the body or a visualisation. They train the mind as the poses train the body.
