Prana Yoga
Building the Sun Salutation
Carla's note
A seven-minute technical class in which Surya Namaskar is broken down pose by pose. It begins on all fours, with spinal mobility, and explains Adho Mukha Svanasana, Uttanasana and plank one at a time, before Utkatasana and Bhujangasana. The focus is on how the hands meet the mat, the direction of the tailbone and the position of the chin, the alignment points that get lost in automatic repetition. It closes in Balasana and is the right practice to start with.Carla Gonçalves
The practice, step by step
- 1All fours and spinal mobility
- 2Downward dog, Uttanasana and plank, each one explained
- 3Chair pose, cobra and child's pose to close
If it is your first time
This is the right class to begin with. Pause in each pose for as long as you need, repeat the video and put the knees on the floor whenever I say so.
If you already practise
Useful for revisiting alignment that has become automatic: hands, tailbone and chin in every transition.
What you need

About Prana Yoga
Prana Yoga is BeYoga's own approach: a Hatha practice with conscious breathing from beginning to end, where each pose is built with alignment and the transition matters as much as the arrival. It works strength, mobility and attention at the same time.
