Prana Yoga
Balance in Flow
Carla's note
A flow of moderate intensity in which the balance poses come only once the body is warm. The seated preparation starts by observing the breath and mobilises the shoulders, the spine in twists and the core. The rounds of Surya Namaskar, with Adho Mukha Svanasana, plank, Chaturanga Dandasana and Utkatasana, activate the legs and the stability of the torso, the foundation for the balances that follow Virabhadrasana. It closes seated, in Anjali Mudra.Carla Gonçalves
The practice, step by step
- 1Seated preparation: shoulders, twists and core
- 2Sun Salutations with downward dog, plank, chaturanga and chair

If it is your first time
In the balances, fix the eyes on a point on the floor and accept that you may fall. Knees on the floor in plank and, if downward dog weighs on the wrists, rest in child's pose.
If you already practise
In the balances, close the eyes for one breath at a time. In the salutations, slow down chaturanga: lower over four counts.

About Prana Yoga
Prana Yoga is BeYoga's own approach: a Hatha practice with conscious breathing from beginning to end, where each pose is built with alignment and the transition matters as much as the arrival. It works strength, mobility and attention at the same time.
