Yoga Nidra
Yoga Nidra (15 min)
Carla's note
Sixteen minutes of Yoga Nidra lying on your back. The practice begins by settling the body and setting an intention, the Sankalpa, and moves on to the rotation of awareness through the body and observation of the breath. Visualisations follow, then a slow return to the present moment. The work is to keep the attention awake on the threshold between waking and sleep, with the body in deep relaxation.Carla Gonçalves
The practice, step by step
- 1Lie down, settle the body and set an intention
- 2Rotation of awareness through the body and observing the breath
- 3Visualisations and a slow return to the present moment
If it is your first time
A cushion under the head and a bolster under the knees, a blanket over you. Falling asleep is fine; it is a sign that you needed it.
If you already practise
It is worth trying to keep the attention awake until the end; that is where the practice happens.
